COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR Lodge CHAIR

Q: What are these chairs made of?

A: Canadian pine and hemlock.

Q: What is the paint and what colours do the chairs come in?

A: We use an outdoor, industrial Benjamin Moore product - a polyurethane enamel which gives a beautiful high-gloss finish. We spray paint the chairs in pieces with a primer first, then the colour giving the wood extra protection on every surface. We can offer almost any Benjamin colour. Please select from the #2000 - #2175 range, ending in '-30' and higher. You can also select a popular colour from one of these photos.

Q: What if I don't want to deal with the maintenance of paint?

A: Check out the "Exterior Stain - deck & siding colour collection" at your local Benjamin Moore store. There are some very pretty colours! The semi-solid stain can also be mixed in some other colours - you'll have to check with us first - but we just mixed a red that is outstanding for a stain. The stain is of course not as glossy or smooth as the paint but in terms of maintenance, it does have its merits.

Q: Great looking chairs, but I don't think I'll be able to get out of them!?

A: Most people find it easier to get out of than a typical Muskoka chair because, quite simply, the seat is higher off the ground and the angle is not as steep.

Q: Can the chairs be shipped?

A: Yes, by courier. It is shipped knocked-down and takes about 30 to 45 minutes to assemble following the easy instructions, using a Robertson (square-head) screwdriver. All the screw holes are pre-drilled.

Q: What are the dimensions?

A: Our Westport chairs are about 38" cubed.

Q: Do you make tables to go with these chairs?

A: Yes we do. Once again, we have to thank our customers for a wonderful suggestion. We didn't think we needed a coffee table. Our reasoning was the arms of the chairs are ample enough. But for those who ordered more than two chairs and wanted a casual group sitting area, the table definitely added the finishing touch. It of course doesn't mean you can't place a table between two chairs for extra magazines, books, and bottles -- so you never have to get up!

About Our Lodge Chair

The Lodge Chair is built on the same platform as the Westport Chair and is based on a design that we saw in Prince Edward County that reminded Sandy of the fishing lodges her family would vacation at in Quebec.

Probably the most remarked upon features of these chairs are the ample arms! Measuring 8.5" wide, they provide lots of space for books, drinks, plates, crosswords.......

Sandy always says, "All you need is staff!"
